Welcome to the Forty Plus Golf Association: Where the Fairways Are Friendly and the Beers Are Cold

 If you believe golf should be competitive but never uptight, you’ll feel right at home with the Forty Plus Golf Association (FPGA). We’re a recreational golf league built for players who love the game, enjoy good company, and don’t mind celebrating a solid round with a cold one afterward.

With 40+ members ranging in age from 40 to 80, our league proves that golf doesn’t get old—it just gets better.

A League Built on Community (and a Little Competition)

The Forty Plus Golf Association was created for golfers who want organized play without the pressure of ultra-serious tournaments. We play Sunday mornings, twice a month, making it easy to fit golf into busy schedules filled with family, work, and—let’s be honest—recovery time.

Our events rotate among several great Northeast Florida courses, giving members variety and a chance to experience different layouts, challenges, and scenery throughout the year. From tight fairways to forgiving greens, every course brings something new to the table.

Format That Keeps It Fun

We keep things straightforward with a stroke-play format and Stableford points, but we spice it up with contests that give everyone a shot at bragging rights—no matter their handicap.

Expect fun side games like

• Closest to the Pin

• Gross & Net Skins

• Hole in One

• And the occasional surprise challenge

These contests keep the round engaging and give everyone something to play for, even if your driver didn’t show up that day.

The Beer League Vibe 

Let’s address the elephant on the tee box: Yes, we proudly call ourselves a beer league.

That doesn’t mean sloppy golf—it means relaxed attitudes, plenty of laughs, and zero ego. Whether you’re cracking one after the round or just enjoying the camaraderie, the social side of FPGA is just as important as the scorecard.

This is a league where:

• New members are welcomed immediately

• Friendly trash talk is encouraged (within reason). 

• A bad hole is forgotten by the next tee box

You don’t need a single-digit handicap to join. You just need:

• A love for golf

• A decent sense of humor

• Respect for the game and your fellow players

From steady pars to heroic snowmen, we’ve seen it all—and that’s what makes it fun. Our wide age range and mix of abilities create a welcoming atmosphere where players learn from each other and enjoy the game at their own pace.
